According to reports, WhatsApp is said to be working on a feature for its WhatsApp Business application that would enable businesses to share their past status updates with customers.
WABetaInfo, a website known for monitoring and reporting updates about the Meta-owned platform, has revealed that the feature is referred to as ‘Status Archive.’ As per their information, users will have the ability to verify whether this tool has been activated on their device or not.
Based on the shared information from WABetaInfo, an image was provided displaying a notification found in the Status tab, indicating whether Status Archive has been activated for a user’s WhatsApp account. If enabled, the notification message will state: “Your Status Updates will now be archived on your device after 24 hours.”
The Status Archive feature, as explained by WABetaInfo, offers benefits such as allowing businesses to republish archived status updates and share them with customers again, aiming to enhance their business. Users will have the option to store these status updates on their phones for a maximum of 30 days. It appears that Status Archive is specifically designed for businesses.
Currently, the feature is being tested by a limited number of beta testers, and a broader release is expected in the coming weeks.
It’s important to note that WhatsApp status updates enable users to share end-to-end encrypted text, videos, photos, and GIFs that automatically disappear after 24 hours.
