New Delhi, April 16 (Gulistan News): The Supreme Court of India today adjourned the hearing on the batch of petitions challenging the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025. The matter, being heard by a bench headed by Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna, will now resume tomorrow at 2 PM.
Senior advocate Kapil Sibal today argued that the inclusion of non-Muslims in the Waqf Council was a direct violation of Article 26 of the Constitution. The Chief Justice, however, engaged in a detailed exchange on the scope of legislative power and religious rights.
More arguments are expected in tomorrow’s session as the hearing continues in this significant constitutional matter.
