Police reported that a member of the Village Defence Committee (VDC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district allegedly died by suicide with his own rifle. Further details were not provided.
The member of Village Defence Committee who allegedly shot himself dead in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district has been identified as Suresh Kumar Sharma, a resident of Bai Nambal village, according to the police.
According to a police statement, Suresh Kumar Sharma died by suicide on Monday night using the firearm that was issued to him as a member of the Village Defence Committee (VDC).
According to officials, a police team from Kandi police station has rushed to the spot where Sharma shot himself with his .303 rifle in the fields near his house. The matter is currently under investigation.
