Poonch, April 18 :- A vaccination and health check-up drive for Hajj pilgrims from District Poonch was successfully conducted today, Friday, under the supervision of Chief Medical Officer Dr. Parvaiz Ahmed Khan and District Immunization Officer Dr. Zahoora Parveen.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Khan informed that a total of 73 pilgrims from Poonch district are set to leave for the sacred pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia this year. The group includes 45 male and 28 female pilgrims.

As per the official breakup, 25 pilgrims are from Haveli, 17 from Surankote, and 31 from Mendhar. Notably, 8 pilgrims are above the age of 65, highlighting the importance of thorough medical screening.

The vaccination drive also included comprehensive health check-ups of all the pilgrims. The medical details and health status of each Haji have been duly updated on the official Haj portal. In addition, pilgrims were provided with their respective Haj booklets, containing important health and travel information.

The initiative aimed to ensure the health and safety of the pilgrims ahead of their spiritual journey, aligning with the Ministry of Health and Haj Committee of India’s guidelines.

The smooth and well-coordinated process received appreciation from the pilgrims and their families, who expressed gratitude for the administration’s proactive measures.
