Udhampur Police apprehended four bovine smugglers, rescued 79 cattles and seized 08 vehicles used for bovine smuggling in last two days.
Team of PS Majalta foiled two bovine smuggling bids in which 22 bovines were rescued from two vehicles bearing registration number JK03-1729 and JK14G 0065. Driver of both the vehicles were fled away from the spot after leaving behind their vehicles on road. In this regard two cases FIR No.18/2024 and 19/2024 U/S 188IPC, 11 PCA stand registered in PS Majalta.
In another case of bovine smuggling, team of Police Post Roundomail rescued 39 bovines from three vehicle bearing registration numbers JK02AH-7975, JK14-6357 and JK01AP-1871 at Roundomail naka point. Accused persons namely Mohd. Sadiq S/O Shah Mohd. R/O R.S Pura Jammu (driver of JK14- 6357) and Mohd. Khaleem R/O Jajjar Kotli (driver of JK01AP-1871), whereas the third driver of vehicle no. JK02AH-7975 fled away from the spot by taking the advantage of heavy traffic on road. In this regard, three different FIR cases under relevant sections of law stands registered in PS Udhampur.
While one more bovine smuggling case, in which Police team of PS Chenani rescued 14 bovines from 02 vehicles having regd. Nos. JK02CN-0704 and JK14E9073 apprehnded one bovine smuggler namely Imran Khan S/O Mohd. Hussain R/O Thard, balli, Udhampur while the second driver of the vehicle fled away from the spot. In this regards, case FIR No. 20/2024 and 21/2024 stands registered in PS Chenani.
Similarly bovine smuggling bid foiled in PP TIkri in which 04 bovines were rescued and vehicle bearing registration number JK20B 0041 got seized. Accused driver namely Mohd. Younis S/o Mohd. Bhuttu R/O Karu, bagha ,Reasi got arrested. In this regards, case FIR under relevant sections of law stands registered in PS Rehambal.
