Srinagar, 16 January 2025 (Gulistan News): The Government of Jammu & Kashmir has issued an order appointing nodal officers for the construction of two Unity Malls in the Union Territory, as part of a Government of India initiative.

According to Government Order No: 09-JK (IND) of 2025, issued by the Industries & Commerce Department on January 15, 2025, Mr. Masrat-Ul-Islam, Director of Handicrafts & Handloom, Kashmir and Mr. Arun Manhas, Director of Industries & Commerce, Jammu have been designated as nodal officers for the construction of the Unity Malls in the Kashmir and Jammu divisions, respectively.

The order states that the appointed officers will coordinate the construction process and liaise with the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the Ministry of DPIIT (Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade) and other relevant agencies as required.

The Unity Malls are part of an initiative aimed at supporting local industries, including handicrafts and handlooms and promoting regional products.

The order has been signed by Vikramjit Singh, IPS, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government. (Gulistan News)
