CHANDIGARH, April 13: Punjab Police have arrested two members of a terror module and recovered an improvised explosive device (IED) containing RDX, a senior official confirmed on Sunday.
According to Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav, the arrested individuals — Jagga Singh and Manjinder Singh — are significant operatives of a terror module run by Gurpreet Singh alias Goldy Dhillon, who is based in Germany and is linked to the Goldy Brar-Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
In a social media post, Yadav stated, “In a major operation, Counter Intelligence Ferozepur apprehended Jagga Singh and Manjinder Singh, key members of a terror network controlled by Germany-based Gurpreet Singh, aka Goldy Dhillon. Their arrest has thwarted Pakistan’s ISI-backed plans to disrupt peace in the region.”
Police recovered a 2.8 kg IED, which included 1.6 kg of RDX and a remote control. Initial investigations suggest the explosive device was meant for a specific terror strike.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced a reward of ₹10 lakh for information leading to Dhillon’s capture. A case has been filed under the Explosive Substances Act.
