Kulgam, April 4: Acting on multiple complaints from local residents of Kilam, Naib Tehsildar Kilam conducted a market checking drive in Kilam area of Kulgam, leading to the sealing of two meat shops for charging rates above the approved prices.
The drive was led by Naib Tehsildar (NT) Kilam, Irshad Ahmad, who was accompanied by his revenue team. “We received repeated complaints regarding overcharging, especially by meat sellers, two shops were found violating the rate norms and were subsequently sealed,” said NT Irshad Ahmad.
Apart from meat shops, the team also inspected several other establishments including restaurants and Kiryana shops. The focus of the inspection was on price regulation, hygiene, and checking the expiry dates of food items. He said
NT Kilam Irshad Ahmad further stated that such inspection drives will continue in the future to safeguard the interests of consumers and ensure adherence to market regulations.
