Two JCOs Killed In Accident In Ladakh; Army Pays Tributes

Leh, Feb 18: Officials reported on Tuesday that two Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) lost their lives in an accident in Ladakh, while the army honored these brave individuals for sacrificing their lives in service.

According to the official, Subedar Santosh Kumar and Naib-Subedar Sunil Kumar lost their lives when a water tank exploded at a camp in the Nyoma region, located 150 km from Leh in southern Ladakh.

They reported that a police inquiry is currently taking place regarding the incident that happened on Sunday.

Northern Army chief Lt Gen Suchindra Kumar honored the ultimate sacrifice of the soldiers who fell.

“Lt Gen Kumar and all personnel of Dhruva Command honor the ultimate sacrifice of bravehearts Sub Santosh Kumar and Nb Sub Sunil Kumar, who gave their lives in the line of duty in Ladakh,” stated the northern command on X on Tuesday, posting a message from the Leh-based Fire and Fury Corps.

The Fire and Fury Corps posted photos of the two JCOs and stated: “GOC, Fire and Fury Corps along with all personnel honors Subedar Santosh Kumar and Naib Subedar Sunil Kumar, who made the ultimate sacrifice while on duty in Ladakh on February 16, and extend heartfelt condolences to the grieving families during this time of sorrow.”
