Two IAS Officers, Shahid Choudhary and Sehrish Asgar Get Prestigious Prime Minister’s Award

Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, CEO of Mission Youth J&K and Secretary to Government, and DC Baramulla Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar have been named for the prestigious Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration, India’s loftiest award in civil services.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, complimented the two awardees for their outstanding achievements.

Dr Choudhary has been conferred with the PM award for the third time. Meanwhile, Dr Sehrish Asgar secured the top spot in the Aspirational sections order for her exemplary work in Baramulla quarter.

The Aspirational District Programme in Baramulla, for which Dr Asghar was awarded, included several crucial enterprises aimed at perfecting healthcare and fiscal addition for the original population.

The establishment of Birth Waiting Wards in Primary Health Centres, Community Health Centres, and the elevation of individual services at all delivery points, were some of the highlights of the programme. Also, Poshan Tracker Tabs were handed to all Anganwadi workers, further perfecting healthcare issues for the community.

The Deputy Commissioner of Baramulla also supported original growers by enforcing a range of enterprise similar as factory protection, nursery strengthening, and the provision of quality planting accoutrements.

A marketing installation was established at Sopore, the alternate- largest Fruit Mandi in Asia, which greatly advantaged original growers.

Through the Aspirational District Programme, severe acute malnutrition in Baramulla was reduced from 3 percent to 0.01 percent, while moderate acute malnutrition was reduced from 11.93 percent to 0.039 percent.

In addition, a two- time paramedical parchment course was introduced for 300 border area scholars to fill the critical gap in the healthcare sector.

Dr Asghar’s sweats towards fiscal addition were also honored, with 56,215 PM Jan Dhan Yojana accounts opened in Baramulla quarter.

The Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration recognizes outstanding benefactions of civil retainers in promoting excellence and invention in their work. Dr Choudhary and Dr Asgar’s achievements have set a standard for others to follow in their pursuit of excellence in public administration.
