Two explosions were reported on Wednesday near the vicinity of Israel’s embassy on the northern outskirts of Denmark’s capital Copenhagen. Danish police confirmed the development and said they are investigating the matter.
“No one has been injured, and we are carrying out initial investigations at the scene,” Copenhagen police tweeted.
“A possible connection to the Israeli embassy, located in the area, is being investigated,” the officials added.
The Israeli embassy was not immediately available for comment when contacted by news agency Reuters.
The explosions near Israel’s embassy in Copenhagen coincided with escalating tensions in the Middle East, as Iran launched missiles at Israel in retaliation for the killing of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah. Since Israel’s war against Hamas began after the Palestinian group’s October 7 attack, several Israeli embassies worldwide have come under alleged targeted attacks.
