Two drug peddlers detained in Kulgam : Police

In an ongoing endeavor to rid society of the drug problem, police in Kulgam have detained two drug dealers and taken illegal narcotics from their homes.

 

A spokesperson said that a Police party led by SHO Police Station DH Pora during Naka checking at Kounserbal Crossing intercepted one suspicious person identified as Mukhtar Ahmad Malik son of Abdul Khaliq Malik resident of Nagam carrying a polythene bag, After search, 800 grams of Charas powder and 130 grams of Charas like contraband substances filled in the said bag were recovered. The said person was arrested on spot.

Moreover, a police party of police station Behibagh established a checkpoint (Naka) at Alamgunj crossing and during checking one suspicious person identified as Aakash Bashir Son of Bashir Ahmad Mochi resident of Munnad carrying a nylon bag was intercepted. After search, officers were able to recover 500 grams of Charas powder like contraband substance filled in the said bag from his possession. He was arrested on spot.

Subsequently, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in Police Station DH Pora and Police Station Behibagh and further investigation have been initiated in both cases.
