Twinkle Khanna, a former actor who has transitioned into writing, is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in fiction writing at the renowned Goldsmiths, University of London. She recently shared a glimpse of her college life and reflected on managing studies at the age of 48. Playfully, she joked that she should have pursued a Master’s in “strange life choices” instead. She pondered whether aging amplifies one’s accomplishments or diminishes what one cannot achieve due to age.
In the video she shared on Instagram, Twinkle is seen walking to her college, enjoying coffee with friends, and proudly displaying her college identity card. She also strikes a pose in front of the college building adorned with the name “Goldsmiths.”
Captioning the video, Twinkle expressed her thoughts, saying, “What’s it like going back to university as I approach my fiftieth year on this planet? It has been nine months of attending classes, questioning my sanity, and sprinting towards the finish line of completing my Master’s degree. Who would have imagined that I would willingly subject myself to submissions, grades, and countless mugs of coffee while trying to focus during lectures? Sometimes I wonder if I should have pursued a Master’s in strange life choices instead of writing!”
However, she also acknowledged the positive aspects of her situation, stating, “On the other hand, I wouldn’t have had all these new experiences and a group of fantastic women, my uni gang, who I can rely on to help me meet deadlines and share laughs during lunch breaks. You can either dwell on the things you’ve lost or appreciate what you can gain. Aging can be seen as a mathematical equation—I prefer to view it as multiplication rather than subtraction. Twinkle’s husband, actor Akshay Kumar, also joins her in London from time to time, accompanied by their children Aarav and Nitara. Akshay will soon be seen in the film “OMG 2,” alongside Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi.
