Tremors felt in Kashmir valley

An earthquake of light intensity jolted Kashmir valley on Wednesday. As per National Center for Seismology- which monitors earthquake activity across the country- the earthquake with a magnitude of 3.7 on the Richter scale hit Kashmir valley at around 1.35 pm with epicenter in Srinagar district.

The epicentre is located at latitude 34.20 in the north and longitude 74.93 in the east, with a recorded depth of 10 kilometres.

The tremors were felt in Srinagar and some parts of Kashmir for few seconds.

There was no report of loss of life or damage to property.
