A tragic incident occurred in Fallbrook, San Diego County, California, where a 3-year-old child unintentionally shot and fatally wounded their 1-year-old sister. The police were alerted by the child and promptly responded to the situation. Upon arrival, they discovered that the 3-year-old had found an unsecured handgun in the house and the unfortunate accident had occurred.

The 1-year-old girl sustained a head injury as a result of the incident. Emergency personnel from the North County Fire Protection District arrived at the scene and found the child in a state requiring cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). She was then rushed to Palomar Hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.

The authorities have decided not to disclose the name of the 1-year-old girl to show respect for the family and due to her status as a minor. Further information regarding the incident is currently being awaited.
