In response to the prevailing climatic conditions, snow accumulation, and frosty roads in the region, the Traffic Police Office Rural Kashmir has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory to prioritize the safety of commuters and drivers.

The advisory read:” No vehicular traffic is permitted along hilly link roads until the concerned government agencies clear the snow.Heavy goods and passenger vehicles are prohibited from plying on hilly roads until snow and frost are cleared.Only 4×4 vehicles or those equipped with anti-skid chains, with a seating capacity not exceeding 10 seats, will be allowed on major hilly roads.”

The advisory emphasizes zero tolerance for overloading within the jurisdiction of Traffic Rural Kashmir. Strict legal actions will be taken against motorists with invalid or missing documents, it added.

Sr. Superintendent of Police Traffic Rural Kashmir, Ravinder Pal Singh, underscored the importance of these measures to ensure the safety and smooth flow of traffic in challenging weather conditions.
