Meta has released three versions of its AI coding tool, Code Llama. “We are releasing three sizes of Code Llama with 7B, 13B and 34B parameters respectively. Each of these models is trained with 500B tokens of code and code-related data.”

For low-latency projects, the smallest size of Code Llama, which Meta will provide in three sizes, can fit on a single GPU.

The new AI model, which will be offered in various variants, is based on Meta’s most recent language model, Llama 2. This approach is being made available by Meta in order to compete with Microsoft’s code-generation tool GitHub Copilot.
