The District Administration Ramban has issued an order to suspend traffic on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway for six hours on Tuesday night to facilitate essential construction work.
The suspension order has been granted to launch girders at MNB-19 an infrastructure development project which is going on.
An official order states:”In accordance with the recommendation from the Project Director, NHAI, PIU Ramban, and with the aim of ensuring the safety and well-being of the general populace, travelers, and drivers, approval has been granted to NHAI, PIU Ramban, for a six-hour traffic halt on January 16, 2024, to January 17, 2024 (intervening night), and a traffic halt of 6 hours on January 17, 2024, to January 18, 2024 (intervening night). This is for the purpose of launching girders at MNB 19 and the installation of ventilation/jet fans in Tunnel T5, strictly adhering to the outlined conditions in the aforementioned communication from the Project Director NHAI, PIU Ramban.”
The order further reads:“Senior Superintendent of Police, Ramban and Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic, NHWs, Ramban, shall implement the above orders in letter and spirit.”
