The Jammu & Kashmir Police across the North Kashmir Range played a crucial role in its fight by working
tirelessly to curb the production, distribution and consumption of illegal drugs. The efforts are not
only aimed to enforce the law but also to safeguard the communities from the devastating impact of
drugs, which have far reaching consequences on individuals, families and society as a whole. The
Jammu & Kashmir police across the North Kashmir Range through coordinated and multi-pronged
measures has been working tirelessly by enforcing stringent laws & regulations against drug
trafficking abuse, collaborations with other agencies, surveillance of trafficking routes and hotspots
to identify and apprehend the offenders.
The year 2024 marked significant progress by J&K Police across the North Kashmir Range to combat
the drug menace. Police forces across NKR made noticeable strides in-dismantling large scale drug
trafficking networks, increasing drug seizures, property attachments and preventive detentions.
Some of the major achievements of J&K Police across the North Kashmir Range in fight against drugs
are as: –
 415 cases have been registered under NDPS Act.
 536 persons have been arrested in NDPS related cases.
 105 persons have been detained under PIT-NDPSAct.
 289 Kgs of contraband substance and cash have been seized valuing around 155.27 Cr

 Property worth 6.24 Cr INR have been attached in different cases across the districts of
NKR which includes 19 movable and 22 immovable properties.
Jammu and Kashmir Police across the North Kashmir Range remains resolute in its commitment to
eradicate the drug related crimes from the fiber of society by dismantling illicit narcotic networks.
Through large-scale drug seizures, dismantling of criminal organizations, coordination with other
agencies and stringent law enforcements, J&K Police across the North Kashmir Range has made
significant impact in reducing the effects of drugs on society. The fight is ongoing, and police across
North Kashmir Range has extended the investigation process in identifying the benami properties
obtained through the proceeds of drug trafficking. Investigation is being done to trace the flow of
funds, false/concealed ownerships, assets and life style analysis of identified persons and complex
ownership structures to hit the financial assets of all individuals involved in drug related crimes. The
battle will continue and the police force across NKR is ready to face new challenges in 2025 and
beyond. The key to success lies in maintaining a collaborative, innovative and comprehensive
approach from all stake holders for creating a drug free and prosperoussociety
