Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday claimed that under the “strong” BJP government at the Centre, security forces were dealing with terrorists in their home turfs.
“Atantwadiyon ko ghar mein ghus ke maara (terrorists were eliminated in their own homes),” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said at a public rally in Uttarakhand ahead of the April 10 Lok Sabha elections.
Under the leadership of what he referred to as the ‘mazboot Modi sarkar,’ the Prime Minister asserted that the country now boasts a robust government that ensures national security, even in conflict zones.
Then, launching a scathing attack against the opposition, PM Modi said, “Congress questioned the existence of Lord Ram, opposed the Ram temple, and created as many obstacles as it could. Even after this, those building the Ram temple forgave all the sins of the Congress and invited them for the Praan-Pratishtha. But the Congress boycotted that too,” the PM said during his public address.
Taking another swipe at the opposition party, PM Modi said, “during the Congress regime, the soldiers did not even have bulletproof jackets. There was no proper arrangement to protect them from enemy bullets.”
“When the Congress was in power, middlemen used to steal money. Now money is being transferred directly to people’s bank accounts,” added the PM during his speech.
PM Modi also pointed out key achievements such as BJP scrapped Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, marking a historic decision under the NDA regime. Additionally, the PM credited his government for implementing measures such as 33% reservation in Parliament and providing 10% reservation to the economically disadvantaged in the general category.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, too, during a conversation with a National media group last Friday, said the government will give a befitting reply to any terrorist who tries to disturb peace in India.
“If he [terrorist] flees to Pakistan, we will follow him and take him down on Pakistani soil. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken the truth… India has the capability and Pakistan has also started understanding that,” Singh said when asked about a report in UK newspaper. The Guardian that claimed the Indian government ordered assassinations in Pakistan as part of a wider strategy to eliminate terrorists on foreign soil.
