A terrorist has been killed in the ongoing anti-infiltration operation in Uri sector along the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials said here on Sunday.
Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that gunfight started on Saturday when security forces launched a search operation in Bajrang-Uri sector following specific information about the presence of some infiltrating terrorists.
Hiding terrorists opened fire on the security personnel, who retaliated, thereby triggering a gunfight, they said.
Meanwhile, the Army’s Chinar Corps, in a post on ‘X’, said: “One terrorist has been killed in the ongoing anti-infiltration Operation that was launched on 22 Jun in the Uri Sector; Operations are continuing”
It’s pertinent to mention that, a top categorized terrorist, Usman among two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were killed on June 19, while two security personnel were injured in an encounter that broke out in Sopore sub—division of the Baramulla district—(KNO)
