Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya netted Rs 10.50 cr on Sunday, taking its total to Rs 26.85 cr. On the worldwide front, the film has grossed Rs 55.10 cr. The film has already crossed the lifetime collection of Shahid’s last theatrical release Jersey, which bombed at Rs 19.68 cr, as well as Kriti’s last release, Ganapath, which clocked Rs 13 cr.
The film chronicles a love story in the world of Artificial Intelligence, when Shahid (a scientist) develops feelings for an intelligent female robot, played by Kriti.
The real test for the Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah’s directorial begins today, and only a positive word-of-mouth can save the movie at the box office. Trade analysts are predicting a slow but steady box office performance of TBMAUJ on the weekdays, as it doesn’t have any big competition from any other releases in the Hindi belt.
On occupancy front, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya had an overall 24.65 percent occupancy on Sunday with a major contribution coming from the evening shows.
