In a distressing incident, a Tempo driver, who is a resident of Reasi, was travelling from Shivkhori to Jammu. He became the target of a highway crime upon reaching Jammu.
The driver parked his Tempo near KC and was seated inside when a man approached the parked Tempo and enquired if the driver was going to Katra. Upon the driver’s agreement, the man requested the driver to open the door for him. Instead of maintaining the degree of caution, the driver opted to open the door. However, the situation took a dark turn. The man suddenly engaged the driver in conversation. Without even letting him know, he placed a towel over the driver’s mouth, rendering him unconscious.
This calculated move allowed the assailant to make off with a bag inside the car, which contained a significant amount of cash ,50,000 rupees. After successfully looting the driver, the perpetrator fled the scene, leaving the unconscious victim stranded in his vehicle.
The driver is now seeking justice from the authorities, urging them to investigate and take necessary actions against the assailant.
