Ganderba , April 04 : A 17-year-old boy drowned in a power canal in the Haknar Fraw area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Friday, triggering a large-scale rescue operation.

The deceased has been identified as junaid Ahmad Khan, son of Abdul Wahid, a resident of Fraw Haknar Gund.

Following the incident, joint teams of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and local volunteers launched a coordinated search operation to locate the body.

An official told that rescue teams reached the site promptly and are employing all available resources to trace the missing youth. As of the time of reporting, the body had not yet been recovered
