Slams Centre on Shimla Agreement
Srinagar, 6 May (Gulistan News): The Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Tariq Karra welcomed the inauguration of the Vande Bharat train in J&K.
Karra acknowledged the significance of the train but stated that the project was initiated by the Congress government.
While lauding the development, Karra criticized the BJP-led Central government, stating that “except for Prime Minister Modi’s visit to inaugurate the train, there is nothing significant or positive for J&K in his visit.
The JKPCC President also targeted the Centre over the Shimla Agreement, alleging that the Modi-led government has undermined India’s position by allowing third-party intervention in matters strictly covered under the bilateral pact.
“This is a clear violation of the Shimla Agreement, which was meant to ensure that disputes are resolved bilaterally without external interference,” Karra said.
