Tamil Nadu Industries Minister TRB Rajaa on Friday complained about a Tiruchirappalli-bound IndiGo Airlines flight, stating that passengers were “sweating and suffocating” due to faulty air-conditioning. The DMK leader took to social media platform X to express his concerns, arguing that this situation should be considered “deficient service” under the Consumer Protection Act.
“There was no immediate response from IndiGo Airlines. ‘This should qualify as deficient service under the Consumer Protection Act! Travel by a low-cost carrier does not mean that the passengers are to be treated with any less care, attention, respect, or courtesy, or that there can be dilution in the minimum standards of safety, security, or efficiency!'” Rajaa stated in his post.
Additionally, Rajaa noted that the flight experienced turbulence, which exacerbated the passengers’ discomfort. Many of the passengers, including those traveling from abroad and taking connecting flights, were seen praying and holding onto their seats. Despite the challenging weather conditions, Rajaa commended the pilot for executing a perfect landing.
