World No. 1 T20I batter Suryakumar Yadav suffered an injury scare during India’s training session at Bridgetown in Barbados on Monday, June 17. The star batter was hit on the hand while he was batting in the nets. However, Suryakumar shook off the blow and continued batting after receiving attention from the physio. A bit of magic spray did the magic as the Mumbai batter completed his batting session.
It was the first time that the Indian players trained in the Caribbean islands after having arrived in Barbados on Sunday evening. India had an optional training session on Monday morning, but the entire team, including captain Rohit Sharma and former captain Virat Kohli, attended it to get a feel of the conditions in Barbados.
India take on Afghanistan in their first Super 8s match in Barbados on Thursday, June 20. It will be the first match for the 2007 champions in the Caribbean as Inida played all their Group A games in the United States. India played 3 games in New York while their last game against Canada in Florida on Saturday was washed out due to rain, robbing India of game time to experiment with their combination.
