A case of alleged molestation with a 24-year-old cabin crew has come to light in an Indigo Airlines flight. A 62-year-old Swedish citizen was arrested in this case.
A 62-year-old Swedish national allegedly molested a 24-year-old cabin crew in an inebriated state on a Bangkok-Mumbai Indigo Airlines flight. Not only this, he assaulted a co-passenger and created a ruckus in the flight.
The person has been identified as Klaas Erik Harald Jonas Vestberg. Mumbai Police has arrested the accused. This whole incident happened in 6E-1052 Indigo flight.
Actually, Westberg molested the Air Hostess while serving food. When the flight attendant informed him that there was no vegetarian food on board, the accused agreed to take the chicken dish and when the air hostess approached him with the POS machine for payment, he misplaced her hand on the pretext of swiping the card.
The woman told the Mumbai Police that when the air hostess protested, Westberg got up from the seat and molested the Indigo staff in front of all the passengers.
Air Hostess charge
The air hostess alleged that the man later misbehaved with the staff and other passengers. The accused was arrested on March 30 as soon as he reached Mumbai airport. He was produced before the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate Court and granted bail. This was the eighth unruly passenger arrest in India in the last three months and the fifth incident of molestation recorded between 2017 and 2023.
Many cases have come to the fore in Indigo flight
Earlier on March 26, an inebriated person had vomited on the Indigo Guwahati-Delhi flight. On March 22, in an Indigo flight from Dubai to Mumbai, two passengers started drinking later. When an attempt was made to stop him from drinking alcohol, he created a lot of ruckus in the flight. At the same time, on 26 November 2022, an elderly woman passenger was urinated on by a drunk man in an Air India flight going from New York to Delhi.
