India spinner Ravi Bishnoi picked 3 wickets in the first chance he got against Bangladesh. Speaking about the team’s mentality with the ball, Bishnoi said that Suryakumar Yadav told the Indian team that they were not defending 300 but 170 runs.
India had hammered 297 against Bangladesh in the first innings of the match, the highest T20I total by any Test-playing nation in the history of the game. However, India were aggressive with the ball in their defence and restricted Bangladesh to just 164 runs.”When we walked into bowl, Suryakumar Yadav told us that we were defending 160-170 and not 300 as it would help us prepare for matches later on which will have such scores. It was a good surface to bat on but that’s the mentality we had,” Bishnoi said.
