Surankote: Security forces found severed head of Soldier

Security forces on Friday morning found the severed head of a Jawan in Sawani village of Surankote of J&K Poonch district, who laid his life combating terrorists in 21 December Surankote terrorist attack last year.

A joint search operation at 6:3 0am was launched by 61 RR and SoG in Chamrer village of Surankote in Poonch and it’s adjacent areas, during the search the security forces discovered severed head of the soldier in Sawani area of Tehsil Surankote and brought it back in Surankote police station.

However, the search of the security personnel in the area is still on.

Two army vehicles carrying personnel to the site of a cordon-and-search operation came under attack at a blind curve at Dhatyar Morh between Dhera Ki Gali and Bufliaz.

On Dec 21, 2023, Four soldiers were killed and three others were  injured after an Army vehicle was attacked by terrorists in the Poonch. The attack took place in Dhatyar Morh between Dhera Ki Gali and Bufliaz, under the jurisdiction of Surankote police station.

After the attack, they reportedly mutilated the bodies of at least two soldiers and took weapons of some of them.
