Supreme sacrifice of PSI Deepak Sharma will forever be remembered: DGP RR Swain

J&K Director General of Police (DGP) RR Swain Wednesday paid rich tributes to the Sub-Inspector Deepak Sharma for his fearless fight against gangster in Kathua, saying “Supreme sacrifice of the martyr will be remembered forever”.

DGP expressed deepest sympathies to the family of martyr on behalf of J&K Police Pariwar.

“Hailing the bravery and unwavering courage of PSI Deepak Sharma, who made the ultimate supreme sacrifice while fearlessly confronting and eliminating a wanted gangster in Kathua, the supreme sacrifice of PSI Deepak Sharma will forever be remembered by the nation and particularly by the people of the Jammu and Kashmir,” a police spokesperson quoted DGP RR Swain as having said.

On behalf of JK Police pariwar DGP J&K has expressed deepest sympathies to the family of martyr Deepak Sharma.

“J&K Police stands united in support of the martyr’s family, whose commitment and valour will continue to motivate us,” the DGP J&K added.

Pertinently PSI Deepak Sharma who was injured in a firefight with gangsters in GMC Kathua on Tuesday evening succumbed at Amandeep Hospital at Pathankote today.

J&K Police Sub-inspector Deepak Sharma, 32, got wounded in a shootout with gangsters in Govt Medical Hospital, Kathua passed away due to his injuries on Wednesday morning (April 3).

Sharma was a Sub-inspector in J&K police, who laid his life in the line of duty. He was from Sangoor near railway station Udhampur.

Sub-inspector Sharma sustained head wounds and he was taken to Amandeep Hospital at Pathankot in Punjab, where he passed away this morning.

The shooting incident happened at about 10:35 pm, last night, which culminated in killing of a gangster and injuries to two policemen.

SPO Anil Kumar has been identified as the second hurt cop.

“I salute the valour & indomitable courage of PSI Deepak Sharma, who made supreme sacrifice while valiantly fighting & neutralising a most wanted gangster in Kathua. His supreme sacrifice will remain etched in our hearts. Deepest condolences to the family of martyr Deepak Sharma.” LG Sinha said on X expressing grief.
