Sunny Deol, currently basking in the overwhelming success of his recent release Gadar 2, has taken his father, the esteemed actor Dharmendra, to the United States for medical treatment.

As per a reliable source, both father and son are anticipated to stay in the US for about 20 days. The source assured, “Dharam sir is presently 87 years old and has been experiencing health concerns. Therefore, for further treatment, Sunny decided to bring his father to the USA. They will be in the US for 15-20 days, or as long as the treatment requires. There’s no need for concern.”

Regarding the box office performance of Gadar 2, the film has emerged as one of the standout releases of the year, hitting theaters on August 11. Directed by Anil Sharma, the movie garnered ₹40 crore on its opening day. It has also entered the esteemed ₹500 crore club in the domestic box office, joining the ranks of Baahubali 2 and Pathaan. In its initial week, Gadar 2 grossed ₹284.63 crore, followed by ₹134.47 crore in the second week, and ₹63.35 crore in the third week. The film serves as a sequel to the original Gadar, with Sunny Deol reprising his role as Tara Singh, a truck driver, while Ameesha Patel portrayed his wife Sakeena.

Recently, the cast and crew of Gadar 2 hosted a lavish success celebration, which was attended by Dharmendra. He was spotted in a lively short grey kurta, denim, and a cap. Previously, he took to his social media account to share a short video from a recent screening of the film, where fans danced joyfully during the end credits. He expressed his gratitude, writing, “Love you all for your affectionate response… Gadar (folded hands emoticon).” The video showcased numerous fans enthusiastically dancing to the Gadar 2 song “Main Nikla Gaddi Leke” after viewing the film.

Meanwhile, Dharmendra was last seen in Karan Johar’s film “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.” He played the role of Ranveer Singh’s grandfather in the film, which hit theaters on July 28, 2023, alongside Alia Bhatt, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi.
