Sunny Deol recently shared some interesting anecdotes from his childhood and family life during an appearance on The Ranveer Show. He revealed that Dharmendra’s mother once made a servant verbally abuse the actor after he had angrily scolded the servant. Sunny also reminisced about his upbringing, including the playful moments of his childhood and how his mother used to discipline him when he returned home after playing, a common experience for kids of his generation.

Sunny Deol fondly spoke about his grandmother (referred to as “Dadi”), emphasizing her significant influence on his life. He described her as a compassionate and principled woman who wouldn’t hesitate to reprimand even her own family members if they were in the wrong. Sunny recounted an incident when his father, Dharmendra, had scolded a servant and used harsh language towards him. His grandmother, Biji, was infuriated by this and instructed the servant to reciprocate with similar language, highlighting her commitment to justice and fairness. Sunny reflected on the strong family values instilled in him by his grandfather, grandmother, and mother, emphasizing that one’s upbringing shapes who they become.

Sunny also shared a childhood memory of receiving a slap from his father, Dharmendra, for mischievous behavior. He humorously mentioned that his face was so small at the time that the slap left three finger marks. However, he added that Dharmendra deeply regretted his actions afterward, leading to his mother and grandmother scolding him for the incident. Sunny noted that his father was often occupied with work, working tirelessly in triple shifts.

In terms of his recent work, Sunny Deol’s latest film, “Gadar 2,” has been competing with Shah Rukh Khan’s “Pathaan” for the title of the highest-grossing film of 2023. Directed by Anil Sharma, “Gadar 2” was released last month and has been steadily approaching the milestone of ₹500 crore in domestic collections.
