SRINAGAR,May 31:  The Srinagar district government has planned the civil defense exercise called “Operation Shield” in the Amar Niwas complex on May 31, 2025 starting from 5:00 PM.The exercise will include emergency intervention activities to enhance the district’s emergency preparation.

According to the public notice of the Deputy Commissioner, who also runs the disaster management area (DDMA), the exercise will be followed by a power outage exercise at 8:AM.

Residents are encouraged not to panic or alarmed by an alarm or abnormal activities during exercise, which is essential to ensure safety in real emergencies.
The authorities require public cooperation and calls people to follow the instructions, keep calm and ensure the proper operation of the exercise.

“Your cooperation is very important for the success of this exercise,” the notice mentions.
