A Police party of Police Station Nigeen at a checkpoint established at Foreshore Road near public park Habbak intercepted a vehicle (Alto car) bearing registration no. : JK01AL-6614 with two persons on board. They have been identified as Haris Bilal son of Bilal Ahmed Dar resident of Ellahibagh and Sameer Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Ahmad Bhat resident of Buchpora Srinagar.
In a statement issued to media that during search of the vehicle, 10 grams of charas-like substance and 14 strips (140 Tablets) of banned drug was recovered.
Both the accused persons have been arrested and vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.176/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Nigeen and further investigation initiated.
