Srinagar, Mar 16 : Srinagar police on continuing their efforts to eradicate the drug menace from society as they have arrested one drug peddler along with 13.5 gms of brown sugar.
During petroling from Bemina Chowk to Boatman colony a vehicle coming from Bemina Chowk to Boatman colony was noticed driving suspiciously and recklessly ,the petroling party attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver tried to flee however the vehicle was tactfully stopped. Upon stoping ,the driver immediately jumped out and fleed from The spot .
while the CO passenger remained inside and was apprehended on the spot who disclosed his name as Sameer Ahmad Bhat s/o Ali Mohammad Bhat R/o Woyan Pampore and also disclosed the name of the driver / the person whom the vehicle belong as Mudasir Ahmad Pir S/o Shareef U Din Pir r/o Firdous Colony Bemina@ Dogee. Search of the vehicle was conduct during which Brown sugar like substance about 13.5 gms was recovered from the Dash board of vehicle. Regarding this case FIR NO. 18/2025 U/s 8/21, 29 NDPS ACT has been registered in this Police station and investigation taken up.During the course of investigation accused namely Sameer Ahmad Bhat S/o Ali Mohammad Bhat R/o Woyun Pampore was arrested on Spot and contraband substance was sealed and seized on spot,moreover one weighing machine and mobile phone was also seized on spot.
Further search of another accused person who flew from the spot has been started.
