Deputy Commissioner, Babila Rakwal gave a press brief today regarding the Special Summary Revision of the Photo Electoral Rolls. She announced that the Election Commission of India has initiated a Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls with reference to April 1st, 2023 as the qualifying date.
The schedule for the revision was read out and includes the publication of Integrated draft Electoral Rolls on April 5th, 2023. The period for filing Claims and Objections will be from April 5th to April 20th, 2023. Special Camp dates will be held on April 9th and April 15th, 2023. The disposal of Claims and Objections will be completed by April 28th, 2023 and the final publication of Electoral Roll will be on May 10th, 2023.
During this Revision, any person who attains the age of 18 years or above on April 1st, 2023 can apply for registration as a voter by submitting Form 6 to the BLO or in the office of Electoral Registration Officers. For objection to the proposed inclusion/deletion of name in the Electoral Roll, persons can apply by submitting Form 7.
For shifting of residence/correction of entries in Electoral Roll/ Replacement of Electoral Photo Identity Card/marking of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), persons can apply in Form 8.
It was specifically mentioned that persons who will attain age of 18 years on July 1st and October 1st, 2023 can also apply in advance during this Revision but their Claims will be disposed off in July and October 2023 only.
These forms can be submitted by citizens through BLOs or online at www.nvsp.in. Copies of the draft Electoral Rolls will be available in the offices of Sub-Divisional Magistrate Mahore (Assembly Constituency Gulabgarh 56), Assistant Commissioner Revenue Reasi (Assembly Constituency Reasi 57) and SDM Katra (Assembly Constituency Shri Mata Vaishno Devi 58).
