Mobile IEC Van flagged off, nutritional assistance disbursed among TB patients
Local Industrial Association provides medical equipments under CSR
SAMBA, JANUARY 30: To mark Anti-Leprosy Day, District Health Department Samba today launched leprosy awareness campaign 2023- SPARSH here at Conference Hall District Administrative Complex.
Deputy Commissioner, Anuradha Gupta was the Chief Guest. Speaking on the occasion, she called upon all stakeholders to collectively intensify the leprosy detection campaign and curb the crippling disease. She appreciated the health department Samba for organizing the programme and emphasized on achieving the target of leprosy free district.
Earlier, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Vidhi Bhatial welcomed the participants and said that different awareness activities including poster pasting, distributions of pamphlets, awareness through Mobile public address system would be conducted for a fortnight as part of Leprosy awareness campaign 2023 (SLAC).
A pledge on leprosy elimination was also taken by the officers/officials and public present in the programme.
During the programme a special nutritional assistance in the form of food baskets were disbursed among 20 TB patients.
As a part of CSR initiative industrialists provided medical equipment to the Health Department samba including semi automatic biochemistry analyzers, hub cutters, BP apparatus, and other items.
Deputy Commissioner, Samba in presence of other officers, flagged off an awareness Van from the conference hall to spread awareness on Sparsh leprosy campaign.
Among others present on the occasion were PO ICDS, Joginder Jasrotia; CPO, Sukhleen Kour; DSEO, DHO a, Medical Superintendent District Hospital, Block Medical Officers, GM Berger Paints ltd and others were also present.
