Residents of Shutkari village in tourist destination Sonamarg are calling on authorities to repair the access road, which has deteriorated and is making daily commuting increasingly difficult.
They have also expressed worries over the lack of a proper playground for children.
One resident, speaking to the news agency said, “Our children do not have a good field to play in. We need recreational facilities for them.”
Locals have appealed to the APCO company for urgent measures to construct a playground and improve the macadamisation of the access road.
They further said that the food safety department’s ration shop remains closed, which forced them to travel to Sonamarg for essential supplies.
They added that the opening of the Z Morh Tunnel would enhance connectivity to the area.
Residents have urged the district administration to intervene and address these critical issues. “We request the authorities to take immediate action to alleviate our daily hardships and improve living conditions in our village,” they said.
