Snow skiing course for first batch conducted by IISM Gulmarg concludes at Kargil

The training course for the first batch of snow skiing conducted by the Indian Institute of Skiing and Mountaineering (IISM), Gulmarg concluded today here at Linkipal, Kargil.

In the 1st batch of the skiing course, 40 trainees completed their training which include 30 trainees from Ladakh and 10 from all India level like Kerala, Delhi, Karnataka etc.

Coordinator of IISM, Ali Asgar said this is for the first time that an intermediate-level certificate course has been started in Kargil. He said it would continue in future and advanced-level courses will be included.

The Coordinator thanked the UT Administration for their support in the smooth conduct of the course in the district.

He also appreciated and thanked the contribution of Ladakh Ski and Snowboard Association for the promotion of snow skiing in Kargil. The Linkipal slope is one of the finest slopes with more than 2.5 km length.
