The Department of Youth Services & Sports, started it’s annual training in snow skiing for the 1st batch of girls on the world famous ski slopes of the attractive tourist destination of Kashmir on Sunday here.
The training course in the sport was inaugurated by Assistant Director Tourism Dr Javaid-ul- Rehman in presence of District Youth Services & Sports Officer Srinagar Balbir Singh Sodhi. In his address the chief guest congratulated & encouraged the participants for their interest in the training of the adventure sport. He stressed upon the young trainees to work hard during the course in order to acquire necessary knowledge and skills. DYSSO Srinagar briefed the participants regarding such initiatives of the Department under which youth are engaged in productive activities. He also highlighted the achievements of the YSS Department and instructed the trainers to work with utmost dedication during the course. He also instructed his colleagues to provide every possible facility to the students during the entire course. He thanked the Department of Tourism for their support and cooperation in making the course possible at the busiest tourist destination. Pertinently 45 Girl students from various Government schools of district Srinagar are taking part in the 15 days training course. Such courses are a regular affair of the Department of Youth Services and Sports and are being run under the supervision of the Directorate of Youth Services & Sports J&K in order to train aspiring students in the domain and in order to prepare and produce youth to take up this skill at professional level in the later part of their lives besides providing them with an opportunity to participate in different competitions. Olympian Gul Mustafa Dev, Incharge course Muzamil Ahmad, Incharge Hutments-YSS Hilal Ahmad besides other senior officers and instructors of the department also attended the inaugural function.
