Shopian Police have attached the assets of a notorious drug peddler, Farooq Ahmad Koka, under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The assets, including a residential house valued at Rs 14.76 lakhs and Rs 6 lakhs in cash, were seized as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle drug networks in the region.
Police said that Farooq Ahmad Koka, a resident of Melura, Zainapora, has been actively involved in illegal drug trade and was implicated in case FIR No. 36/2024 registered at Police Station Zainapora.
“His criminal activities have been under investigation for a considerable period, and his assets have now been targeted as part of the fight against narcotics trafficking.”
