Shopian police along with Division forest officer in a joint operation against illegal timber smuggling, seized a huge quantity of illicit forest timber in the Keller area of Shopian.
Acting on a specific information about a consignment of illegally smuggled forest timber in Keller, a police party of Police station Keller headed by SHO PS Keller along with DFO Shopian raided the residence of Manzoor Ahmad Khanday S/O Gh Ahmad Khanday resident of Chowan Keller. During search, Police was able to recover 40 feets of forest timber.
In this regard Case FIR under relevant sections of BNS & Forest Act has been registered in PS Keller. Further Investigation of the case is going on.
