In a shocking revelation, Shantanu Maheshwari fell prey to an online scam. The actor shared his harrowing experience of falling victim to a bank fraud in an interview with Hindustan Times. The incident has left him deeply concerned and frustrated as he struggles to rectify the unauthorised transactions.
The actor, who is gearing up for the release of his new film Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, co-starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu which is slated to hit the theatres in April, said that after realizing that he lost the money, he contacted the customer care service for help, but did not get any assistance from them.
The actor posted on X , “Unbelievable! My Axis Bank account hit by fraud – a card generated without my knowledge, no OTP received, and my registered email and phone no. changed without any verification!… Would really appreciate Taking swift action to restore security and resolve this unsettling situation”.
The actor lost Rs 5 lakh as a part of the bank scam. In a now deleted Instagram story, the actor had even shared his ordeal and urged fans to be more vigilant.
