Shah Rukh Khan celebrated Father’s Day by taking to Twitter to extend his well wishes for his daughter Suhana’s upcoming entry into Bollywood. Suhana will make her debut as an actor in Zoya Akhtar’s film “The Archies.” The teaser of the movie was revealed during the Netflix Tudum event in Sao Paulo.
Shah Rukh expressed his excitement for Suhana’s debut and sent his best wishes by tweeting, “On Father’s Day – here’s wishing the best to my baby… all the babies… and Tiger Baby… for #TheArchies!” He also shared the teaser.
Fans of Shah Rukh were delighted by his affectionate gesture. One fan wrote, “#HappyFathersDay @iamsrk sir. Thank you for being the best father in the world to your children and giving them all the love and being their greatest inspiration. You are not only the biggest megastar but also the biggest superhero in your children’s lives. LOVE YOU GOD SRK.” Another fan commented, “Happy Father’s Day sweet dad. Love to you and your family.”
Regarding “The Archies,” it is a live-action musical based on the well-known American comic book characters of the same name. The upcoming Netflix film is described as a coming-of-age story that introduces the teenagers of the fictional hill station of Riverdale to a new generation in India.
The 1.16-minute trailer was unveiled at Netflix’s global event Tudum, where more than 10,000 enthusiastic attendees cheered in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Saturday night.
Zoya Akhtar shared the trailer on her official Instagram account, writing, “Are you ready to go back in time? Welcome to the Archies.” Maitreyi Ramakrishnan from the popular Netflix series “Never Have I Ever” introduced the lead cast on stage after the first look.
The cast members, including Dot (Ethel Muggs), Agastya Nanda (Archie Andrews), Khushi Kapoor (Betty Cooper), Mihir Ahuja (Jughead Jones), Suhana Khan (Veronica Lodge), Vedang Raina (Reggie Mantle), and Yuvraj Menda (Dilton Doiley), performed the song “Sunoh” on the Tudum stage.
Set in 1964, “The Archies” is a coming-of-age musical that follows the lives of Riverdale’s beloved group of teenagers: Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, Reggie, Ethel, and Dilton. Through the unique lens of the Anglo-Indian community, the film explores friendship, freedom, love, heartbreak, and rebellion.
