On Tuesday, officials reported that seven suspected drug peddlers, including a woman, were arrested by the Jammu and Kashmir police in two separate incidents in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
According to officials, the Jammu and Kashmir police arrested three alleged drug peddlers during a naka checking at Sheeri Market in Baramulla district and recovered 63 grams of a substance resembling contraband brown sugar. In another incident at Boniyar, Baramulla, four drug peddlers, including a woman, were arrested and 60 grams of a substance resembling contraband heroin were seized.
According to a police spokesperson, in the Sheeri incident, three drug peddlers named Zubair Ahmad Pandith, Waheed Bashir Lone, and Mushtaq Ahmad Lone were arrested during a naka checking at Sheeri Market. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Peerzada Aijaz Ahmad DySP Hqrs Baramulla and assisted by Inspr Waseem Jahangir, SHO PS Sheeri. The accused tried to flee on seeing the naka party, but were apprehended by the alert naka party. During the operation, 63 grams of contraband brown sugar-like substance was seized.
During their personal search 63 grams of contraband Brown Sugar like substance was recovered from them and were taken into custody immediately. A Case under NDPS Act registered in Police Station Sheeri and investigations set in motion.
The spokesman said that four drug peddlers were arrested at Boniyar Baramulla during naka checking. The spokesperson said that Police under the supervision of Shokat Ali-JKPS, SDPO Uri assisted by DySP Prob Kubra Nazir , SHO PS Boniyar arrested 4 Drug Peddlers namely Ikhlaq Mir S/O Ahmad Mir, Kabir Ahmad Awan S/O Muzaffar Ahmad both residents of Daragutliyan, Abdul Qayoom Khan S/O Sarfaraz Ahmad R/O Bela Salamabad & Muneeba Younis D/O Mohammad Younis Sudan R/O Uranbowa who were coming in a vehicle bearing registration number JK05L-3829 from Chandanwari towards Boniyar and we’re intercepted during naka checking at Boniyar on seeing naka party they tried to flee from the spot but were apprehend tactfully by the alert naka party.
During their personal search l60 grams of contraband Heroin like substance and cash Rs 50,000/- was recovered from them and were taken into custody immediately. A Case under NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Boniyar and investigation set into motion.
