Ahead of the Republic Day celebrations, security has been beefed up across South Kashmir’s Kulgam district, officials said on Monday.
Reports reaching to that checkpoints have been erected in many places in Kulgam and frisking has been intensified. Police are seen at many places stopping and checking the vehicles.
“Kulgam police intensified search ahead of Republic Day on the direction of SSP Kulgam, Sahil Surgal (IPS). From last few days, the process of searches have been going on various places including Ghanta Ghar Kulgam”, official said.
The Republic day functions will be held in district headquarter of Kulgam on 26, January this year.
