A gunfight erupted on Sunday in Sopore, Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, marking the first encounter of the year. Security forces, including the police, CRPF, and army, launched a joint search operation in the Gujarpattu-Zaloora area after receiving intelligence about the presence of terrorists.
The village was cordoned off, and entry and exit points were sealed to prevent any escape. During the operation, a terrorist hideout was discovered, leading to an exchange of fire. Security forces retaliated after observing gunfire from the hideout.
Drones were deployed for aerial surveillance, and additional troops were sent to tighten the perimeter. Sources revealed that two to three terrorists are believed to be inside the hideout. Last year, Jammu and Kashmir saw multiple encounters, resulting in the deaths of numerous terrorists, including Pakistani nationals, and security personnel. GULISTAN NEWS TV
