Secretary Ravinder Kumar reviews the functionalization of the Ladakh Dairy Cooperation Federation

Secretary, Agriculture Department, Ladakh Ravinder Kumar chaired a meeting to review the functionalization and affiliation of the Ladakh Dairy Cooperative Federation.

Affiliation of the Ladakh Dairy Cooperation Federation with the National Cooperative Dairy Federation of India Limited (NCDFI) is under process and Secretary Ravinder directed the federation to fast-track the process.

The Milk Pasteurization Plant at Agling is being made functional with technical and manpower support provided by National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), who assured all possible assistance in making the plant functional.

It is pertinent to mention that NDDB signed a tripartite MoU with Ladakh Administration and Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) to provide technical and manpower support to of Ladakh Dairy Cooperative Federation for a period of five with the aim to develop a structured dairy development program in Ladakh.

The Ladakh Dairy Cooperative Federation shall collect milk from associations around Leh and cater to the local market requirements.

DC Leh, Director Animal/Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Additional Registrar Cooperatives, Deputy Registrar Cooperatives, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Leh, President, Ladakh Dairy Cooperative Federation, and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
