Eid Al Fitr is one of the biggest festivals in Islam. After observing fast for almost one month during Ramazan, Eid is celebrated with great joy. According to the Islamic calendar, Eid ul Fitr is celebrated every year on the first day of 10th Shawwal. Edi Al Fitra is expected to be celebrated on April 11, 2024 with immense happiness and dedication.
Its celebration is decided by the sighting of the moon. Eid Ul Fitr is also celebrated as Meethi Eid.
The actual date of celebrating celebration the festival depends upon the Moon sighting but in Kerala, Eid-Ul-Fitr is traditionally celebrated a day before the rest of the country, as the moon sighting follows the Islamic calendar and waits for the actual sighting of the moon in Saudi Arabia. Similarly, in Kashmir, the grand mufti of the state declares the beginning of the festival based on moon sighting timings.
